Inauguration of 12 ISEI Branches for the Period of 2023-2026 and the Period of 2024-2027

11 September 2024

On September 11, 2024, Mr. Perry Warjiyo, as the Chairman of the Central Board of ISEI, inaugurated 12 ISEI Branches led by the Coordinators of the Eastern, Central, and Western Regions via Zoom Workspace. The distribution of the 12 inaugurated ISEI Branches is as follows:

ISEI Branch Management for the Western Region: Lhokseumawe, Tapaktuan, Bengkalis, and Bengkulu.

ISEI Branch Management for the Central Region: Jakarta, Serang Banten, Banyuwangi, Madura, and Denpasar Bali.

ISEI Branch Management for the Eastern Region: Central Sulawesi, Sangihe, and Manokwari.

In his remarks, Mr. Perry Warjiyo congratulated the 12 ISEI branches that have been inaugurated and encouraged the branch leaders to create and contribute to the regional and national economy. As a professional organization, ISEI must continue to advance with the manifesto of its founding fathers, namely Prof. Dr. Soemitro Djojohadikoesoemo, up to the present day under the leadership of Mr. Perry Warjiyo.

The Chairman encouraged ISEI to continue playing a role in advancing the tri dharma through policy formulation, academic progress, and community service, which should be carried out in the spirit of Academia, Business, and Government (ABG). This will encourage synergy and collaboration between central and regional entities to face global fracturing.

Mr. Perry Warjiyo also stated that the Indonesian economy remains very resilient amid global uncertainties. The economy continues to grow strongly, with a projected growth rate of around 5.1 percent in 2024, inflation maintained within a tolerance band of 2.5 ± 1 percent, the strengthening of the rupiah exchange rate supported by high foreign exchange reserves, and credit growth that will continue to rise.

The condition of optimistic macroeconomic figures must be balanced with caution by relying on endogenous economic growth, namely stability amid slowing economic growth; downstream processing that must continue to intensify and extend products or commodities that are labor-intensive; digitalization to enhance competitiveness and productivity of MSMEs to adapt and adopt computerization in the business cycle; and inclusivity of the economy based on equitable distribution across sectors and regions within the framework of a people-centered economy that prioritizes local potential.

The Chairman also called for the support, success, and attendance at the ISEI XXII Congress & SEMNAS 2024 in Surakarta with the theme "Strengthening the Foundations of Economic Transformation and Inclusive and Sustainable Public Policy," and requested the ISEI Branches and Central Management to bring forward constructive ideas both at the national and regional levels as ISEI's contribution to the Indonesian economy.
